Weekend Style Dispatch: 48 Hours In Chicago

Aside from getting up to all kinds of Halloween trouble, I had one major mission in the Windy City--IKRAM! The boutique is not only the best place to score serious fashion in Chicago, but owner Ikram Goldman has been called Michelle Obama's personal stylist (and was just named one of the 50 Most Powerful People in Washington, D.C. by GQ). Most of Mrs. O's amazing Rodarte dresses and Fenton necklaces and Thakoon suits and insanely covetable pieces have come from Ikram, and I was ready to make a pilgrimage like it was Mecca...

...so you can imagine my utter disappointment to discover that Mecca was closed on Sunday! This is my sad face...and even an enormous omelette from Lou Mitchell's couldn't console me...

I still managed to squeeze in a little retail therapy (Jake, Ultimo, Barneys, Cusp) and do a teeeeny bit of damage (one long sleeve minidress), but it looks like I'll have to make another trip back to Chicago soon to pay homage to the beacon of chic that is Michelle Obama's favorite store. Tell me dolls, how was your Halloween weekend? Did your costume turn out like you planned? What were some of the best ones you saw? And what do you think of Peg Bundy? Discuss!
